More than 19 lakh employees were added in November 2019 alone, reveals the Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) payroll data.
As per the payroll data, the total number of employees who registered during the month were 19,62,804, up from 16,90,599 employees added in October 2019.
The number of employees registered in the month of November is the second-highest in 2019. While, July witnessed highest with registrations of with 19,86,360 employees.
A seprate payroll data released by the Employees’ Provident Fund Office (EPFO), showed at least 8,67,964 people joined the formal workforce in November 2019.
Also, of those who joined the formal workforce in November, about 4,62,550 employees belong to the 18–25 age group, about 246,348 people were of age group of 26-35 and about 1,51,907 were of age group of over 35 years.
